2008 News Archive - Holidays - Cricket fans should head south

02 10 2007

Cricket fans should look to the southern hemisphere this winter to experience the highs and lows of international cricket, as South Africa take on New Zealand in a number of tournaments.

Throughout November, the two countries will try to surpass each others batting, bowling and fielding skills in what could be unmissable entertainment.

Johannesburg is the location for the first test match of the month and takes place at the Liberty Life Wanderers Stadium, while the second is at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

These two fixtures take place on November 8th and 16th respectively.

The Liberty Life Wanderers Stadium is also the scene of a twenty20 meeting between the two nations, before two one-day internationals are decided in Durban and Port Elizabeth.

Cricket fans may find South Africa and ideal place to visit during the winter as the cricket season is certainly in full swing, with matches between Pakistan scheduled for October and meetings with the West Indies to take place in January.

The ICC Twenty20 World Cup was recently held in the country.
