12 09 2007

Sri Lanka boasts fabulous beaches, scenery and people as well as a top-flight cricket team, which may be of interest to budding cricketers interested in enjoying the sport in exotic surroundings.

The Sri Lankan national cricket team will take on England at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in several meetings during the course of October this year.

Hot off the heels of the Twenty20 World Championships held in South Africa this month, the matches should provide an exhibition of pure class from both competitive teams.

The five-day international series will take place on October 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th and 13th, giving any cricket fan enough sport to get excited about.

Of course the country offers many other activities to see and do in between each stage of the cricket.

According to Whatsonwhen, the annual Hindu event of the Navarathi festival is held in the country during September and October, which celebrates the Goddess Durga.
