2008 News Archive - Holidays - Croatia is "very popular all over"

05 02 2008

The country of Croatia is a "very, very popular" tourist destination among Britons, one commentator has stated.

According to the Croatian National Tourist Office, Croatia is "very popular all over", with regions such as Rijeka and Dubrovnik proving to be especially appealing to holidaymakers.

Additionally, it is noted that there are more than 1,000 islands off Croatia, many of which - such as Korcula, Cres and Losinj - are favoured among tourists as they are well connected with the mainland.

"Croatia's very popular, we [had] 275,000 British holidaymakers in Croatia last year… We've got 150 tour operators who do Croatia as well," commented a spokesperson for the Croatian National Tourist Office.

He added that Croatia was a very versatile country in terms of what it could offer holidaymakers.

According to the Croatian tourist board nearly 11 million tourists visited Croatia between January and November 2007.
