With Valentine's Day getting ever closer, it's again time to lavish your loved one with gifts, flowers and the finest getaway that money can buy.
But you've done roses, you've been to Paris and Prague, so where can you go to really make this a Valentine's Day to remember? In a word, Dubai.
This member of the United Arab Emirates has quickly become the ultimate in luxury tourism venues, with a string of the world's finest hotels being built as well as a range of restaurants to compete with the other great cities.
And the perfect gift to match this once in a lifetime trip? A diamond, of course. Renowned auctioneers Christie's is planning its first jewellery sale in Dubai, attracting interest from some of the world's richest collectors.
With a single-stone diamond ring expected to take $900,000, according to Forbes, this sale is not for everyone, but there are plenty of opportunities to pick up a glittering gift at the more sensible end of the price range - Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Tiffany are among the famous names with stores in Dubai.
Recent research by Barclays rated Dubai as one of the top five winter locations for UK travellers this winter.
