The Dominican Republic is perhaps one of the Caribbean's most spectacular islands and is known for its tropical climate, but things may be heating up for different reasons as music lovers descend upon the country in October.
The annual Dominican Republic Jazz Festival takes place between October 26th and 30th, promising to provide festival-goers with three scenic locations to sit-back and soak-up musical melodies.
American artists Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Ari Hoenig will play alongside countryman Sandy Gabriel and his jazz ensemble.
Neighbouring island Cuba will provide a host of gifted musicians and singers such as Grammy award winner Chucho Valdes and younger talent Ramon Vazquez.
Autumn is surely a timely season to visit the island as Dominican International Film Festival takes place the following month in November.
The celebration of films is likely to provide visitors with plenty of entertainment and as some films are screened on the beach film fans will not even have to venture indoors.
