2008 News Archive - Holidays - Drink some beer in Orlando
13 06 2007
While Orlando and beer may not seem synonymous, they certainly become so in November, during the annual Orlando Beer Festival.
The city's promenade, already one of the most idyllic places in the Florida, becomes even more so as the restaurants lining it put on music shows and performances while serving up copious amounts of beer.
Over 40 different independent brewers show up for the festival, desperately seeking the approval of the participants.
Restaurants and brewers jockey to win one of the prestigious awards, consisting of Best of the Fest, Taster's Choice and Best Booth.
And if visitors wish to do things in style, a VIP ticket is available that will give one access to private rooms with complimentary buffets and special beer-tasting opportunities.
Tickets only cost $10 (£5) and are well worth it.
Orlando itself, home to Disneyland, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in America, due to its beautiful weather and host of entertaining diversions.
