2008 News Archive - Holidays - Exchange rates make Mexico more "affordable"
14 05 2008
A combination of a strong peso and a weaker than normal pound makes holidays to Mexico more affordable and accessible than usual, an industry expert has claimed.
Writing for ajc.com, Clara Bosonetto Maerz noted that the development of the resort of Los Cabos - an 18 mile long stretch of desert between the towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo - could be "one of the swankiest spots in North America".
Boasting top spas, golf courses, gourmet dining and luxury resorts, Los Cabos is both desirable and affordable, Ms Bosonetto Maerz said.
She added: "In the evening, stroll with the locals along streets lined with art galleries, shops and gourmet restaurants around Plaza Mijares in San Jose del Cabo."
The Los Cabos region is on the west coast of Mexico, on the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula.
