2008 News Archive - Holidays - Florida art museum celebrates Disney's music

04 02 2009

The Norton Museum of Art in Palm Beach, Florida, is staging an unusual exhibition aimed at children and grownups alike.

Entitled Disney: The Music Behind the Magic 1928-Today, the exhibition will celebrate the rich artistic heritage of the music which has soundtracked Disney animations, films, TV shows and musicals throughout the ages.

Designed with a "multi-generational audience in mind", the exhibition will showcase songs like The Bare Necessities from the Jungle Book or Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the Lion King which have added so much to Disney's productions over the years.

The Norton Museum said: "Each major thematic section combines Disney's past and present so that its elements resonate with everyone from tots and teens to parents and grandparents."

Disney, which owns theme parks in Orlando, has long proved a big pull for families taking holidays to Florida. The museum may be hoping that this latest exhibition will provide them with one more thing to sing and shout about.
