2008 News Archive - Holidays - Fuerteventura 'is attracting return tourists'

19 01 2009

Fuerteventura, a popular holiday destination for Brits looking to soak up some sun, sea and sand, is so beloved by foreigners that it is attracting increasing numbers of return visitors from the UK, one local newspaper has claimed.

The Tenerife News said: "British holidaymakers are becoming addicted to Fuerteventura because of its beautiful white beaches, sunny weather and tranquil atmosphere."

According to the newspaper, the island, which is also known as La Isla Tranquilla, offers UK tourists the perfect antidote to the drudgery of daily life in the UK.

The Tenerife News continued: "With its quiet and laid back atmosphere, it is just the perfect get away from the economic doom and gloom where, for a week or so at least, you can put aside your worries."

Recently, the Telegraph included a week's break in Fuerteventura as one of its top winter sun bargains for under £250.
