2008 News Archive - Holidays - Gatwick boosts travel centre

25 10 2007

People looking to fly from one of the many great destinations that Gatwick has to offer could find the experience easier from now on.

Airport officials have announced that some of the £850 million earmarked for improvements over the next ten years will be splashed on a new travel centre facility.

Based at the South Terminal, the new Onward Travel aims to cater for the point at which air traffic numbers reach 40 million people.

Jo Astor, retail director BAA Gatwick, said: "The centre will enable our passengers to select their onward travel choice simply, from the wide range on offer in one place."

The official added that it also aims to boost the level of service provided to passengers.

In addition, some of the airport's investment is set to be used for an upgrade to the South Entrance Building.
