Although one might associate eastern Europe with cheap hotels and even cheaper booze, a rather more sedate and classy form of entertainment is becoming popular in the holiday destinations.
Jazz is taking hold, with a number of clubs and festivals offering enthusiasts the chance to enjoy their breaks by listening to some smooth sounds and getting away from it all.
One such event takes place in Bulgaria, with the Bankso International Jazz Festival occurring on August 8th to 13th this year.
According to Whatsonwhen, the event is known as "the music of the free people" and has provided international and local performers the chance to wow the crowds since its inaugural hosting in 2007.
So far in its decade's tenure, Bankso has attracted names such as Scot Hamilton, the Sydney Ellis quartet and the Paul Paz band, so why not check out this year's line-up?
