08 05 2007

Summer is here, which means that so is Barcelona's Guitar Festival.

But guitar enthusiasts hoping to combine soaking up the sun with listening to great sounds had best hurry, as the festival ends on March 22nd.

This year's event features guitar greats like Tommy Emmanuel, the Stanley Clarke Band, the Pedro Javier Gonzales Trio, Ana Popovic, Nina Pastori and Chuck Loeb.

All style's of guitar mastery will be on display, including blues and jazz, flamenco and of course classic.

A highlight of the event will be Ngugen Le celebrating perhaps the greatest guitar hero of them all, Jimi Hendrix.

Barcelona is the perfect location for a festival of this sort, because in between appreciating the music, there is a plethora of sights and activities to appreciate.

As the second largest city in Spain, Barcelona has a thriving nightlife and some of the best restaurants in Europe.

Visitors should be sure to visit Gaudi's masterpiece, the world famous Sagrada Familia church.
