Retail therapy will take on a new dimension for people enjoying Dubai holidays from August 28th onwards.
This day marks the opening of the Dubai Mall, featuring a special Gold Souk with more than 220 gold and jewellery retailers.
The chief executive of Emaar Malls Group, the developer behind the mall, explained to TradeArabia that Dubai Mall is "redefining" the retail and shopping experience.
Jim Badour explained that the local heritage of trading in gold will be reflected in the Gold Souk and its activities.
He said: "The Gold Souk is much a tribute to the region's rich heritage as to further strengthening the gold and jewellery trade, for which Dubai is renowned globally."
The Gold Souk will also add to the mall's overall "entertainment factor", added its general manager Yousif Al Ali.
Describing Dubai Mall as "both a tourist attraction and a jewellery shopper's paradise", he added that the Gold Souk would be central to Dubai holiday makers' experience.
