Tourists looking for a mixture of sun, sea, sand and history should look no further than Mexico, after a 2,500-year-old city was discovered in the Central American country recently.
According to the Associated Press, archaeologists believe the city to have been influenced by the Olmecs - widely regarded as the 'mother culture' of Mesoamerica.
However the remains of ancient cities such as Zazacatla are by no means the only reasons why tourists flock to Mexico year after year.
As well as being steeped in history and tradition, Mexico also has some of finest beaches on earth to offer.
Hollywood's rich and famous have been enjoying the golden white sands of the Mexican coast for years. Jessica Simpson was recently spotted holidaying at Cabo San Lucas as she celebrated her 26th birthday with family and friends.
Nicole Richie is also thought to be a fan of the resort as she was spotted there last month with her rumoured new beau, Good Charlotte band member Joel Madden.
Cabo San Lucas is a small resort on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula and has a population of just over 40,000.
