2008 News Archive - Holidays - Holidays in "fertile" Balearics

06 03 2008

The Balearic Islands are a great choice for holidaymakers seeking some "glamour", it has been claimed.

According to Go2Spain the islands of Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza are particularly "laid back" during the winter months.

"When the summer crowds have departed, the sleepy Spanish way of life re-exerts itself, rushing slows to a crawl and everyone sits back to enjoy the lush greenery [and] bustling local markets," the company notes.

It also describes the islands' "craggy" cliffs and "fertile" plains as ripe for exploring during the winter season.

Outside of the summer season, it is claimed that Majorca offers "a real taste of Spain", with a history steeped in pirates and smugglers, its caves and caverns are perfect for exploration.

The Balearic Islands include Majorca - the largest island - Minorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Cabrera.
