In China, August sees food lovers frequenting a culinary exhibition in Hong Kong.
The annual event is a melting pot of 330 suppliers from the island displaying food feasts and tasty tantalisers for passionate foodies, providing both sampling and kitchen tips to the less experienced chefs among us.
Gourmet chefs will demonstrate their finest talents and prizes will be given away in culinary competitions during the festival which takes place between August 16th and 20th.
Visitors to the ex-British colony are in for a treat as the celebration of food will feature confectionary, bakery products, noodles and sauces to name but a few. Tourists will be able to wash down their grub with a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages served at the event.
Holidaymakers visiting the area in August may also get the chance to experience the Festival of the Hungry Ghosts, according to Whatsonwhen. A fiery spectacle enjoyed by children, this Chinese tradition takes place on August 26th.
