Visitors to Florida have the opportunity to take in the spectacular sights and sounds of one of the largest carnivals in the US in October.
The Miami Carnival is a day of celebration boasting live music, a Caribbean-inspired parade and an abundance of West Indian food and drink.
Winding its way around the streets of the city, the parade offers the chance to see 25 mas and steel bands, Soca performers and some of Miami's finest DJs.
Each year, visitors can enjoy the festivities, which also include the competition to be named King and Queen of the Carnival and a Band of the Year contest, free of charge.
People enjoying Florida's other attractions can take a trip down to Miami to experience the carnival on Sunday October 7th.
While in Miami, sun-worshippers can relax on one of the city's many beaches, recognised by USA Today and the Surfrider Foundation as being among the best in the US.
