2008 News Archive - Holidays - Kevin Pietersen takes South African holiday

08 01 2009

England cricket's star batsman Kevin Pietersen has recently returned from a holiday in South Africa and arrived back last night to be greeted by a scrum of photographers.

The chance to relax on holiday may have given Pietersen the best preparation possible for what may prove to be the most difficult stages of his career, following his controversial resignation of the England captaincy.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Pietersen had been on Safari in his home country before visiting the popular holiday hotspot of Durban and then catching his plane back from Johannesburg.

Recently, several travel industry insiders have predicted that South Africa will become an increasingly popular holiday destination for those like Pietersen who are looking to get away from the pressure and stresses of their everyday lives in the UK.

British Airways predicted that Cape Town and Johannesburg will be its two most popular long-haul destinations for 2009.
