2008 News Archive - Holidays - Kings for the day

16 11 2007

Those familiar with Hispanic Christmas traditions will know that January 6th, or epiphany, is a bigger day than Christmas Day.

It is on this, the last day of Christmas, that the presents are handed out in Spain and the day before towns and cities celebrate with a procession of the three kings.

Visitors enjoying a trip to Majorca will be able to enjoy the re-enactment of the journey to Bethlehem through the streets of Palma, re-enacting their trip to Bethlehem but coming on floats rather than camels, Whatsonwhen reports.

The kings are made up from huge puppets which make their way through the throng.

People enjoying some winter sun and the festivities will also be able to enjoy the many fine beaches of the island as well as some fine scenery and nightlife.

Among the best places to see in Palma are the Almudaina Palace and the Cathedral, palmademallorca.us states.
