Florida offers holidaymakers a great many things to see and do with well-known tourist attractions such as Universal Studios and Disneyland, but culture-vultures can also enjoy the sunshine state.
Held between November 2nd and 4th, the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival is a well-loved and historic event hosted by Pensacola.
A cash prize of $25,000 (£12,300) is up for grabs and should encourage the most talented artists in the area to exhibit their work.
Holidaymakers should not feel left out, as they can take a hands-on approach to blacksmithing, weaving, spinning and engraving in a number of craft workshops.
Kids should also enjoy the fun, as a number of child-friendly craft projects such as face painting, clay play, sand art and a magical balloon show will be available at the Children's Arts Festival in Bartram Park.
Art lovers should note that Daytona Beach provides the setting for a similar occasion in November as the Halifax Art Festival returns to Florida's shores, Whatsonwhen notes.
