22 10 2008

The majority of British holidaymakers plan to travel abroad again in 2009, it has been revealed.

Research carried out by the Association of British Travel Agents found that 80 per cent of those who travelled abroad during 2008 plan to do so again in 2009.

The figures are a clear indication that despite the credit crunch, people are still eager to spend their hard-earned cash on holidays.

Of those surveyed, 46 per cent said that their did not intend to change their holiday plans as a result of the credit crunch.

Furthermore, over a third of respondents took three or more holidays abroad in the past year.

The news echoes the results of a recent survey by TripAdvisor. In a poll carried out by the site, 56 per cent of people claimed they intended to travel even more over the coming year.
