Fans of the top holiday destination Menorca are in for treat this summer, as the island prepares for its festival season.
The annual Festival of St John in Ciutadella on the last Sunday before June 24th will be the first to be celebrated.
A man dressed as John the Baptist will walk barefoot and carrying a sheep down the town's main road.
He will be followed by parade of horses, dancing the famous jaleo, a feat that only the most skilful riders are capable of performing.
This festival is perfect for families with children and singletons alike.
The Mahon Fiesta from September 7th to the 9th is the other main event during summer and is not to be missed.
Huge firework displays complement the constant dancing, singing and more horse parades.
While the dates of the fiesta occasionally changes from year to year, it is always in the same approximate time frame.
