2008 News Archive - Holidays - Miami mango madness

20 06 2007

Fans of mangos will not want to miss the annual International Mango Festival, which takes place in Miami on July 14th and 15th.

The city's famous Fairchild Tropical Gardens will host the event, which will have the plumpest, juiciest mangoes in the world on offer to attendees.

A gamut of different displays, exhibitions, workshops and tastings featuring mangoes of all different varieties will be present.

And a plethora of Mango experts will be attendance, giving advice on how best to grow, prepare and eat a mango.

As the 45th most populous city in the US, Miami is an exciting blend of cultures and ethnicities that combine to produce one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

The fact that the city has three official languages, English, Spanish and Haitian-Creole, is a clue to how diverse it is.

Visitors should be sure to take in Little Havana, where much of the Cuban population resides.
