14 01 2008

Holidaymakers looking to travel to Morocco in the coming years may find that their choice of destinations is opened up.

According to Real Estate TV, Maghreb Arabe Presse reports that the Moroccan government is looking to develop a number of new tourist areas in the country.

The Moroccan property specialists claim that Morocco's tourism minister Mohamed Boussaid intends to spend $14.4 million (£7 million) on building oasis resorts in the desert areas.

According to the reports, these regions include Errachidia, Ouarzazate and Zagora.

The government is looking to develop these areas in an effort to attract ten million tourists to Morocco before 2010.

Magharebia recently reported that Moroccan tourism rose by seven per cent in 2007.
