2008 News Archive - Holidays - Package holidays 'a good idea'

17 04 2008

Booking onto package holidays in 2008 could be a good idea for Britons looking to make the most of their money, it has been reported.

According to Thomsonfly, the weakened pound sterling against the euro means that the time is ripe to book an all-inclusive holiday.

However, Alan Pugh, head of planning and trading at Thomsonfly, added that Turkey could be a good destination for those wishing to avoid the euro-zone and the pricey currency altogether this summer.

"As additional costs in European destinations - food and beverage, for example - would be paid in euros exchanged from pounds, there has never been a better time to book an all-inclusive holiday," Mr Pugh commented.

All-inclusive holidays see all meals, soft drinks and the majority of alcoholic drinks included in the booking price.

Sports and other activities are also sometimes included in the price as well.
