14 02 2008
Rome and Paris are popular city breaks among those wanting to get away over Easter, it has been reported.
According to Thomas Cook, city breaks to Barcelona and Venice are also "always popular" around this time of year.
The comment comes after American Express reported that European city breaks are the most popular type of Valentine's Day break for Brits.
"Disneyland Paris is also a key choice especially with Eurostar's recent move to St Pancras making it more accessible throughout the UK," a spokesperson for Thomas Cook added.
Other top city breaks she listed included Monte Carlo, Lisbon, Madrid and Seville, which appeal to those after a "short break in the sun".
According to Travel Counsellors, the cost of the average holiday in Easter 2007 was £2,376 per booking.
