The minarets of Istanbul will never look so good as when planes flying at 400 km per hour are buzzing around them.
That's right, the Red Bull Air Race World Series is coming to Istanbul on June 2nd.
Few sights are as exciting or awe-inspiring as the Red Bull Air Race, which sees some of the best pilots in the world going head-to-head.
Pilots like Mike Mangold, a former top gun with the US Air Force and Kirby "Arizona Lightning" Chambliss, the winner of the last event, will push the envelope to the max.
Against the backdrop of the pale blue waters of the Bosphorus and the bazaars of Istanbul, these men will put their lives on the line for the entertainment of spectators.
Istanbul itself is one of the most exciting cities in Europe, having always been a crossroads of culture.
With more beautiful mosques and museums than you can shake a stick at, this city is well worth a visit, especially at the height of summer when it is gilded by the sun and cooled by sea breezes.
