If thrills and spills are your cup of tea, then the famous Pamplona Bull Run, which takes place from July 6th to the 14th, may be for you.
The bull run is actually a part of a wider festival, called the Fiesta de San Fermin, which sees the entire city of Pamplona grind to a halt in order to celebrate properly.
And on every morning of the festival, the daring, crazy or just plain foolhardy take to streets to match their wits against a herd of stampeding bulls.
It was Ernest "Papa" Hemingway who brought the running of the bulls to the attention of the world and since then the event has become an attraction that brings in visitors from all over the globe.
Though bull runs occur in many other cities around Spain, including Zahara and Tordesillas, but Pamplona is considered the quintessential event.
And the city of Pamplona itself is well worth a visit, whether it is to run with the bulls or simply to wander its mazy streets and bask in its sunshine.
