2008 News Archive - Holidays - See Rhodes' Valley of the Butterflies

25 05 2007

There can be few other places in the world that are as beautiful as the Valley of the Butterflies in Rhodes.

Between June and September every year, the valley becomes a treasure chest of thousands upon thousands of brightly coloured insects.

Shaded by leafy trees and with a stream running through the base, the valley is a veritable Garden of Eden.

Visitors can spend all day wandering its many shaded paths, which are adorned with bridges and stone steps.

The valley also boasts a sumptuous restaurant and an idyllic picnic site where you can stop and refresh yourself.

Situated in the cerulean blue waters of the Aegean Sea, Rhodes itself is one of the most paradisiacal locations on earth.

It boasts an idyllic Mediterranean climate and the island's Stegna Beach is rated as one of the best in Europe.

Also, the Palace of the Grand Master is one of the finest examples of medieval fortification to be found in the world today.
