Tenerife's capital, Santa Cruz, is so beautiful that it could rival the likes of Madrid, Paris and Rome, according to the Tenerife News.
The city is currently undergoing a 19 million euro transformation that includes revamped squares and pedestrianised zones.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Plaza de Espana, Tenerife Cabildo president Ricardo Melchior said the unveiling marked the "beginning of the future for the capital".
The plaza has reportedly undergone a complete transformation, with trees and bright lights now lining the square.
With sunshine guaranteed all year round, Tenerife is already a popular destination with British holidaymakers.
Some of the island's top visitor attractions include the Lago Martianez, Teide Volcano and the Siam Water Park, which officially opens its doors today (September 17th).
