British holidaymakers "trust" their travel agents on the whole, a new survey has revealed.
According to a study by magazine Holiday Which?, 81 per cent of travellers believed that they had received trustworthy advice from a travel agent, TravelWeekly reports.
Meanwhile, a total 90 per cent of holidaymakers said that they would recommend their travel agent to relatives or friends.
"Lots of people are still using a travel agent to book their holiday and as a source of information and advice. People trust them, perhaps because there's a human face to talk to," Holiday Which? editor Lorna Cowan is reported to have said.
She added that there is still a demand for travel agents despite an increase in interest in DIY holidays.
The news comes after Easier reported that travel agents anticipate Australia to be popular for long-haul travel in 2008, according to research carried out by The Network.
