Holidaymakers considering a Mediterranean sojourn have been advised that Turkey can provide a cheap alternative to other spots on the Mediterranean.
According to BuyAssociation, the region's property market in particular will become more popular in 2008.
Paul Collins, property editor of BuyAssociation, noted that places in Turkey are "significantly" cheaper than Cyprus or Greece or elsewhere in the Mediterranean.
"I think it will compete and become more popular over the next year," Mr Collins observed.
He added: "There's also going to be an increase in the number of low-cost flights going into Turkey as well, so those are things that are all going to help improve people's access to the country."
According to Easier, there was a 16 per cent increase in the number of tourists visiting Turkey in 2007.
