Méribel Ski Resort

Méribel is at the heart of the words biggest ski area – the Three Valleys. It arguably has the best location of all the Three Valleys resorts being situated between Courchevel and Val Thorens. This subsequently means that access to the other resorts is very easy. There are slopes up to 2800m directly above Méribel and for days when the weather is bad there are plenty of tree lined runs down low as well.

The easy links over to Courchevel on one side and Val Thorens on the other do mean that Méribel can be very popular and can get busy. The advantage though is that you can head in the other direction and easily get into a different area should you wish to, accessing the vast terrain that is on offer with ease.

Méribel is also known as the party town of the area. It has superb nightlife, with a variety of bars, clubs and restaurants to choose from.

Just above Méribel and part of the Méribel area is the smaller hamlet of Mottaret. Situated on the side of the slopes this is an excellent location if you want a true ski in-ski out destination.

Did You Know?

Check out the brand new Folie Douce bar this season – bringing some French-style après to a very English resort. You can also practice your French by translating the names of the runs – many of the best ones are named after animals, from the fast and fun 'blaireau' to the slightly hairy 'renard.'
