Val d'Isère Ski Resort

Val d'Isère is half of the French mega ski domain called the Espace Killy, named after the French skiing legend Jean-Claude Killy who lived in Val d'Isère. Val d'Isère is a much prettier town than the neighbouring resort of Tignes but it is also renowned as being more expensive to stay in. If you want to glam it up and be seen in one of the trendiest locations in the Alps then this could definitely be a resort for you.

Val d'Isère is split into three main town areas – La Daille, Centre Village and Le Fornet, with Centre Village being the main resort hub at an altitude of 1800m.

As you would expect for such a huge ski area the amount and variety of terrain is excellent and there is something for everyone. The main freestyle park in the Espace Killy is based in Val d'Isère, with varying levels of jumps and features for different ability levels.

What the Espace Killy is famed for though is the amount of easily accessible lift accessed off-piste terrain. If you want to develop your off-piste skiing then hire an instructor or mountain guide from one of a number of local English run ski schools and ski on some of the best terrain in the Alps.
