Obertauern

2 hours 40 from Friedrichshafen

At 1740m Obertauern is one of the highest purpose-built Austrian villages. The good snow reliability and easy access to the slopes (unlike many Austrian resorts you don't need to hop on a bus to get to the action) make this a great choice for early or late season skiing. Most of the apres ski bars can be found at the base of the lifts offering a good swig of music and dancing 'til dinner (which can be embraced or avoided as desired).
