6.    Carriage of dangerous goods

6.1    For the safety of all our passengers, Monarch restricts certain articles from passengers' hand baggage and hold baggage, as well as strictly prohibiting certain items for carriage onboard the aircraft.

6.2 The following items are strictly prohibited from carriage:

6.2.1 flammable liquids and solids such as lighter or heater fuels

6.2.2 oxidising materials such as lighter or heater fuels

6.2.3 oxidising materials such as bleaches and peroxides

6.2.4 poisons such as arsenic

6.2.5 alkalis and wet cell batteries

6.2.6 etiologic agents (bacteria, viruses etc.)

6.2.7 radio-active materials

6.2.8 firearms

6.2.9 explosives, fireworks and flares

6.2.10 compressed gases (flammable, non-flammable and poisonous) such as butane

6.2.11 butane powered travel irons

6.2.12 oxygen

6.2.13 chemical oxygen generators. Click here if you require therapeutic oxygen

6.2.14 magnetised materials

6.2.15 offensive and irritating materials

6.2.16 apparatus containing mercury may only be carried as cargo

6.2.17 party poppers

6.2.18 cooking oil

6.2.19 butane powered gas curlers (prohibited unless a safety cover is supplied and is firmly in place)

6.3 The following items can be stowed in hold baggage but are strictly prohibited from hand baggage:

6.3.1 toy or replica guns

6.3.2 catapults

6.3.3 razor blades

6.3.4 knives with blades of any length

6.3.5 scissors

6.3.6 nail clippers

6.3.7 cutlery

6.3.8 hypodermic syringes (except for medical use during flight - doctor's certificate required)

6.3.9 darts

6.3.10 knitting needles

6.3.11 sporting bats/racquets, billiard, snooker or pool cues
