Floating Markets
Bangkok's network of canals has provided it with a unique commercial opportunity - staging a regular market afloat. A series of boats filled with fresh produce settle on the river and ply their wares. This is very popular with tourists but is also an essential way for locals to obtain meal ingredients. It's an entertaining and captivating way to spend half a day.
Sukhothai
The first Thai kingdom within the land was established in 1238. Today it is one of the most impressive historical sites in Asia. The Sukhothai National Historic Park, a UNESCO heritage site, is set over an area of 70 square kilometres, divided into five zones. The site contains buddha figures, moats, lakes and bridges. Much restoration work has been done and it is an incredibly impressive place to visit.
Chiang Rai
This area in Northern Thailand is the gateway to the famous Golden Triange, named as it overlaps four countries - Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. The area is known for its natural beauty, with mountain trails, Buddhist temples, and the wonderful hill tribes, with their unique native dress and traditional customs. It is an area with a lot to offer and to be discovered.
Elephant Camp
Elephants have traditionally been an important part of Thailand's workforce, used for their strength and intelligence, and ability to work hard. They are mostly used in such tasks as transporting logs. When you visit an elephant camp you will learn more about the lives of these working elephants, as well as getting the chance to see them up close.
